What is Foamiran?

Foamiran isn’t a new product on the market but has been popularized in recent times by card makers & scrapbookers. Foamiran is similar to paper in appearance but is a Foam with a thickness of 0.6mm - 0.8mm. The foam can be manipulated into beautiful, delicate shapes under warmth. Most commonly the material is moulded into flowers.

What is all the fuss about?

Using Foamiran you can create beautifully delicate, natural feeling flowers which can be coloured using a variety of mediums such as Faber Castel Gelatos, Ink Pads, Acrylic paint or oil pastels. Flowers can be used for cards, scrapbooking layouts, garlands, head pieces and so much more!

How can I shape the flowers?

You can shape the flowers using a variety of methods. You can cut the shape of the flower out by hand or by using a die. To shape the flowers into natural form you can use millinery moulds or gently warm the material with your hands or a warm iron with no steam. Shape with ball tools on a foam or sponge mat. Are there different types?

Yes! There is regular and Silken Foamiran. Silken foamiran is slightly more delicate and can be ironed between two sheets of paper which will make the foam shiny & thicker. Foamiran also keeps it shape and creases well. Both types do not curl when warmed! Silken Foamiran is perfect for Weddings!
